Olive Oil Hair Magic

Summer is coming and fitness alone won’t help me to look the best I can. So I was thinking of ways to make my hair look not so zombie-sh like. Winter passed and what I was left with was dry, damaged hair (tho I rarely use any hair styling tools). I know that the most common thing people would do in this situation would be just to go to the shop and get some hair treatment. Oh well, I decided to try Olive Oil mask. Yes, I see it all over beauty blogs… Before and after photos looking way too promising, almost too good to be true. But first of all, let me tell you how it went…

I used about 5-6 spoons of olive oil and a spoon of lemon juice ( heard it helps to wash the oil out a bit easier). Mixed it all up and gently rubbed into hair. Tho I suggest to not touch your roots.

Braided my hair and went to watch Eye Candy (TV show). Time passed really fast, so I’m not sure how long I held my hair like that, but I think it was around 2-3 hours. Afterwards washed it 2 times with simple shampoo ( I use herbal one) and left them to dry on their own.

To see the results you need to do this once or twice a week and because it was my first time trying olive oil as a hair mask I can’t say too much, but what I noticed, is my hair felt really soft and moisturized afterwards, not greasy at all. So I suppose I will be continuing doing this and will write an update soon.

Be sure to try this simple mask and see result for yourself!

My Workout Routine

My best friend actually asked for my everyday fitness routine and some nutrition tips, so I thought why not, I could share with you all 🙂

By any means, I’m not a professional nutritionist or fitness guru, I’m just a girl who’s trying to get fitmotivation for summer and see what the works best for me and others.

Workout routine below is what I do every day. As for what I eat, it’s just an example of one day. I try to eat meat just 1 time in a week. Also calorie counting for me is very important: 1000-1200 is my daily goal.

MORNING

BREAKFAST: 2 salmon sandwiches with few cucumber slices and whole grain bread before morning workout, 1 banana after workout.

WORKOUT:  Yoga and 20-30 min of cardio: running in place with 0.5 kg weights , jumping jacks, jumping in place.

AFTERNOON

LUNCH: Brown rice with chicken breast/tuna and lots of veggies. NO SALT. For vegetarians, you could just simply change meat into peas – makes you full for a longer time. Eat 2-3 hours before workout, so you won’t feel heavy.

WORKOUT: Stretch ( I love this one ), Abs training around 2-3pm for 30 min. Workout is super hard, but I’m definitely seeing the results.

EVENING

DINNER: Veggie soup with lots of broccolies or a cup of a 0% fat yoghurt and some fruits. And again let food to digest for a couple of hours if you feel full, before working out.

WORKOUT: When I first started exercising, Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred Level 1 was my favourite. Now I constantly change it with level 2. And also do two of Denise Austin 5 minute workouts I mentioned in the first post.

SNACKS

If I feel the need to snack, I usually make some salad or grab a few rice crackers(20 calories each).

TIPS:

  • LOTS of water.
  • No potatoes, pasta, white rice and white bread.
  • If you feel sick or can’t do some of the exercises, change harder ones into the ones you know you can do.
  • While doing planks, if not using yoga mat, put a sweater or a blanket under your arms, so it won’t hurt so much.
  • Always try to learn how to do exercises right before you are going to try doing them fast enough like in the videos. Prevents you from getting hurt.

Do Something

Hey!

Not so long ago, I was sad, lazy and didn’t even bothered doing things I knew i must do to succeed in my life. Why? I just couldn’t make myself.

For months I felt like everything I wanted to do is to sit next to the computer and play video games, eat, sleep. And God knows, I slept a lot…

I wasn’t like that all the time. It happened when I finished the school and moved out. I was working so hard, that I barely had time left to do something except sleeping. I ate what I could at that moment (mostly junk food), which of course wasn’t healthy. In fact it was horrible thing to do to my own body. After half-year I decided to move to other country. My eating habits didn’t changed. In fact I ate the same food even though I had plenty of time because I wasn’t working.

And then it happened.

I got fed up with blaming myself of doing nothing, for seeing that I can’t fit anymore to my lovely shorts (and summer is coming!). I googled for some nice workouts, bought plenty of veggies and fruits, left all bad foods in the past and it began!
The exact moment I started to feel myself sweating from workout, muscles hurting, I felt so proud! So happy that I finally was doing something! From that day I got more productive, started living again, enjoying life more.

Now I’m going towards my goal – getting fit and healthy!

What I wanted to say is just DO SOMETHING and you will see results from the start!

I’ll put couple of my favourite 5 minute workouts for you (fun and won’t take long!) :

Enjoy!
